My Job in this Project
In this project, I programmed the entire game and was also responsible for the level design. When designing the levels, my main goal was to create a fun and motivating experience for the player. I placed special importance on adding checkpoints to prevent frustration and keep the player engaged throughout the game.
The level is divided into different sections. In the first part, the player’s objective is to escape an avalanche. This section takes place in a snowy landscape where the player must jump over various obstacles to survive. I designed the opening segment to be relatively simple, allowing players to get familiar with the basic mechanics. As the game progresses, the difficulty increases by gradually combining these mechanics in more complex ways, creating a sense of challenge and progression.
To enhance immersion, I also used environmental elements like snow effects and dynamic camera movements to support the feeling of urgency and motion.
At the start of the game, we included some NPC dialogue to introduce a bit of story and give players a quick overview of what happened before the gameplay begins. This helps to build a sense of context and motivation right from the beginning.
For the background visuals, I added a parallax effect to create a greater sense of depth and atmosphere. This subtle visual enhancement makes the environment feel more dynamic and engaging, helping to draw the player into the world more effectively.
